GOLDIE IS DEAD: Kennis Music's Keke Ogungbe Sympathises With Goldie's Family

I'm still in great shock, this is unbelievable. I got a call from my friend in Nigeria, saying that Goldie passed way shorty after she returned from US where she attended Grammys . I doubted him at first, made some more calls and browse the net, to be sure it wasn't one of those jokes. unfortunately, it wasn't.

Born Susan Filani,Goldie as she was fondly called changed her name to Susan Harvey on arrival from England.According to her profile,Goldie is from Ekiti State in South West Nigeria.She is in her 30s. She was signed to Kennies Music before she passed away.

 "On behalf of Kennis Music, I'm sad to officially confirm the shocking and untimely passage of Nigeria's pop star, Goldie Harvey.

With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache at her Park View residence shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award.

She was rushed to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance Goldie passed away, the abundance of talent she has exhibited in her but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her.

She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters.

We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage.

We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are still devastated by the sudden loss." Meanwhile, the remains of Goldie, who hails from Ekiti State has been deposited in the mortuary of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos. Goldie represented Nigeria at the Big Brother Star Game in 2012.

Her latest effort, she described as three nawti singles from her forthcoming African Invasion album are “Skibo”. "Miliki" and " Got To Have It," are presently enjoying heavy rotations on radio and TV stations across the continent.

Burial arrangements will be announced by the family.

May her soul rest in peace.

Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, will make her debut in Nigeria next weekend. She has been confirmed as special co-host, for ‘Love…Like A Movie’, the eagerly anticipated valentine concert by Darey’s Soul Muzik.

Eme boss, Banky W who rekindled his solo career some months ago with two singles "Yes/No" and " Good good loving" is throwing another Lagos party. And this time, it’s for the release of his hugely anticipated genre-defining, industry-shaking album R&BW. The singer, songwriter and businessman has spent the last few years grooming protégées like Wizkid, Skales and Niyola; running the EME label- currently unarguably Nigeria’s number one music powerhouse.

  Now, W is all ready to present his new body of work to millions of fans around the world. And he’s setting it off with an intimate concert this Valentine. EME has announced plans for the R&BW: “The Grand Love” Concert, saying, in a statement that the concert will hold at The Civic Centre on Ozumba Mbadiwe in Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday, February 15, 2013.

 It’s just about two months after the massive Baddest Concert, featuring Banky and his label mates. The singer says he’s ready again, to treat fans to the kind of special performance they won’t get anywhere else. The fifth of February was supposed to be sexy diva, Tiwa Savage’s 33rd birthday, but it also turned out to be her engagement day as Tiwa was proposed to by her longtime manager and business partner, Tunji Balogun, better known as Tee Billz.

At an exclusive birthday bash at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Tee Billz presented an engagement ring to Tiwa, thus confirming months of speculation and denial of romantic relationship between the two.

R&B singer, Praiz, serenaded the couple immediately after the proposal, in the presence of other superstars like Don Jazzy, Banky W, Dr. SID among others.

It was Don Jazzy who first let out the information as he sent a tweet with photograph of the lovebirds: “Awwww, it’s official. Mavin First Lady @TiwaSavage and @teebillz323 are finally engaged. I’m excited I witnessed the proposal. Congrats,” Don Jazzy tweeted.

EME Boss, Banky W, was a bit poetic: “He liked it so much he put a ring on it.”

Early yesterday, the social media had been abuzz immediately Tee Billz reportedly updated his Blackberry Messenger status to read: ‘Happy Birthday Mrs Billz’. This was further amplified by Tiwa with munched photographs of two cakes on her Instagram page. One of the cakes came from her Mavin label mates and surprisingly, the other with inscription ‘Happy Birthday Mrs Billz’.

Despite their denials of romance, many had maintained that the two are more than business partners. Apart from escorting the singer to numerous shows and private parties, Tee has been caught on camera in many uncompromising position with the Kelele crooner.

On a number of occasions, the two were seen clubbing together at her label’ boss, Don Jazzy’s Club PoP in Victoria Island, Lagos.

In fact, a few weeks ago, they both traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates for a brief holiday.
