Ini Edo marriage crashed

You will agree with me that it is not easy to be a married celebrity; scandals could break or make it depending on how the couples can deal with it.
After the pretty actress, Ini Edo got married amidst pomp last year to Edo State born business man, Philip Ehigwiana, there have been a lot of rumors that the married crashed, which she at several occasion proved to her fans was intact.
However, the information reaching the Nigerian entertainment clan is that the Nollywood popular actress is now in trouble as the marriage has crashed like a badly arranged pack of cards.
According to a very authoritative source, the problem in the union started when after the marriage, Philip allegedly stopped spending for Ini and it got worst when he traveled back to the US shortly after their marriage and had stopped communicating with her as he used to.
As expected Ini started suspecting him of adultery and hired spies to follow him to America, it was to her chagrin when she was contacted while on location sometime last month that her husband was actually seeing another woman and infact the lady is already living with Philip and they had pictures to show her.
It was further said that on hearing this news, an eyewitness disclosed that Ini almost fainted and has resorted to alcohol to calm her nerves. The sultry actress as of now has jetted out of Nigeria to confront her husband of his infidelity to her. Close associates have revealed that the marriage is currently in shambles as Ini is refusing to part with more money because she has already spent N2 million on her husband’s business.

Asa is BACK with “Beautiful Imperfection”.

Hi Magazine

Asa’s second album is ready!
She speaks exclusively to HiTV in its Hi Magazine issue this month about her new album, and what she has been up to.
Her self titled debut album changed the face of Nigerian music as we knew it, and it’s hard to believe that it’s been two whole years since it was released. She’s been busy during this time – touring the world, recuperating, re-discovering herself and even making music in a foreign language. And all this wasn’t enough – Asa still found the time to cinch a prestigious international award.

The new me
Asa’s new album, she says, is “full of happiness”. She’s looking different; more feminine and sexy, and she’s excited about this change, clearly enjoying the growth of this new side of herself. She admits that she’s been taking better care of herself, and that for the first time in a long time she’s feels beautiful and colourful.
She may have a new outlook on life, but Asa still remains true to her roots. She will always talk about social politics and the problems people face. “I’m not a different person. I remain the same and I hope to share that through the music”, she says.
In France, a country whose language she does not even speak, the home grown star contended with ten other artistes to win the prestigiousConstantine Award. She also recorded a French song with Yannick Noah, a Cameroonian musician based in France. As always, Asa remains grounded, grateful and humble about her achievements.

Be my man
Asa’s new album is named ‘Beautiful Imperfection’, and the title tracks on the album clearly depict her present state of mind. She shares a few during the interview, and like a mother with her children, she is hard pressed to pick favourites.
Speaking of Be my man, a track which was inspired by the guitar, Asa boldly admits that she is now open to love, and acknowledges her readiness for “that bold step”. In Questions, a moving track, she takes on politics, the news and the thoughts of everyday people. On the track Bimpe, Asa reveals to the world, a character whom she has lived with for a long time. In her head, that is.
Two themes that run through her album are humour and love. “I hope to add smiles to [people's] faces as they listen to the songs”, the soulful singer says. Other tracks which she disclosed are Broda Ole and Ok. Most of the songs were written in her studio, a haven filled with musical instruments. “When you have instruments around you, they can inspire a new sound or song”, she says.

Lighter notes
The soulful singer has had her fair share of good and bad times, but they have made her stronger. She has accepted growth and change, and is learning to “[let] go of unnecessary baggage”. Asa speaks: “You just have to smile, be brave and hold on longer, and that is what I am doing.”

Asa’s first single, “Be My Man”, debuts next week, and her album, Beautiful Imperfection premieres on radio, and will finally be released next month, so keep your ear to the ground!

Jeremiah Gyang walked down the aisle, tied the knot

Having fought the emotional trauma of losing his mother; almost causing him his career as a singer and a producer, on Saturday August 28, Jeremiah Gyang walked his beautiful lover and friend of over a decade, Ladi down the aisle in his home base, Jos.

After his first ‘Na Ba Ka’ debut album in 2004, the name Jeremiah Gyang instantly became an household brand as the title track turned to the favourites of OAPs and was jammed consistently on early morning TV and radio shows in Lagos. he plan to drop his album soon.

Wishing Nigeria's singer/producer quick recovery

We wish Terry G quick recovery. The singer-producer had a fatal accident on his way home,  on September 4 at about 3am, after hanging out with friends in Ikeja, Lagos, when he ran into the road demarcation around Chemiron, close to Sunday Market, in Ogba.  One of the messages sent to my facebook mail by 411 entertainment reported that Terry G had been discharged and flee abroad for further treatment.
Read on
Contrary to earlier reports that Dancehall act, Gabriel Oche Amanyi a.k.a Terry G may be flown abroad for further treatment as a result of complications arising from his near-fatal auto crash which occurred in
the early hours of Saturday morning the 5th of September; we can
authoritatively reveal that the musician was allowed to go home to
further recuperate at about 4:00pm on Wednesday the 8th of September.

His parents especially his dotting mother was always by his side
saying prayers while he was still in coma and she now seems relieved
that her son is gradually regaining his health.

The other members of the House Ginjah crew such as IQ and Rakwell are
also recuperating really fast after sustaining minor bruises. Speaking
immediately after being discharged from hospital, the hot-blooded and
high-in-demand producer who could hardly utter words thanked all those
who sought about his welfare while he was still in the hospital.

‘‘As you can see, I am getting better and I hope to be back on my feet
soon. I want to thank all my fans and well wishers for their concern.
Their love and care is even making me stronger. Thank God I am alive
and getting better.’’ He muttered.

Terry G who was behind the wheels rammed his dark army green Toyota
Camry car into a slab some few meters away from Chemiron
Pharmaceuticals on Metalbox road, off WEMCO road in Ogba, Ikeja at
about 3:00 am leaving himself badly hurt while the other occupants
(his group members) Banton, IQ and Rakwell sustained minor cuts and
bruises.

The night is hosted by Gozi Ochonogor who believes it is important that art be recognised in all spheres and not limited to paintings and sculpture. She  hopes that Pecha Kucha will help creative people find a voice in our city and break the class and age boundaries that hinder progress. This vision is becoming a reality as presenters from Vol 1 collaborate on new projects and recommend each other for international exhibitions. She is joined by Tamilore Kuboye as co-host and Remi Solarin who makes up the team.

Sesame Street back in Nigeria, tweaked to make it more relevant to Nigeria's children

It looks a lot like “Sesame Street,” only that’s no Cookie Monster
“What is so exciting about yams? Everything!” Zobi, a taxi-driving Muppet, shouts in a Nigerian lilt to anyone who will listen. “I can fry the yam. I can toast it. I can boil it. I love yams!”
“Sesame Street,” once a mainstay for a generation of Nigerian children who grew up with the U.S. show on Nigeria’s state-run TV network, will return to Africa’s most populous nation this fall, funded by American taxpayers but distinctively Nigerian.
Produced and voiced by Nigerians in formal — if squeaky — English, the show aims to educate a country where almost half of the 150 million population is 14 or younger. Its focuses on the challenges faced by children in a country where many have to work instead of going to school: AIDS, malaria nets, gender equality — and yams, a staple of Nigerian meals.
“Nigeria is diverse; we have 250 different ethnic groups, so many different languages. We don’t have the same customs; we do think differently,” executive producer Yemisi Ilo said. But “children are children. All children love songs, and all children love furry, Muppety animal-type things.”
Renamed “Sesame Square,” the show will air 26 episodes in the first of its scheduled three seasons, with one show for each letter of the alphabet.
