Thula Sindi's collections at NIGERIA NEXT SUPER MODEL
Thula Sindi designs for elegant and mature women. All his garments commemorate femininity and they achieve what amounts to the transportation of womanhood to its origins of tenderness, softness and grace. Exuding so much passion about his loyal clientele, Thula Sindi is committed to designing garments which both enable and encourage women to express their personal styles. Though his label is relatively new, it has in a short time managed to secure a distinctive and timeless identity in the fashion trade.
He matriculated in 2001 from the National school of the Arts in Johannesburg and the London International School of Fashion. Thula Sindi introduced Vlisco’s fashion line to South Africa Fashion week (SAFW) in 2005, along with fellow designers Malcolm kluk and Palesa Mokubong.
He started developing his concept in February 2006 and he subsequently emerged as a semi-finalist at the Nederburg Rare fashion contest later in that year. He was one of the eight nominated finalists in Marie Claire Designer Contest in 2007 and 2008.
In November, he was adjudged as one of the top 10 emerging designers in FIMA; Afrique Est Las Mode Pan Africa fashion contest at Niamey, Niger.
