Dom DeLuise, actor, comedian and chef, dies at 75

LOS ANGELES - Dom DeLuise, the portly actor-comedian whose affable nature made him a popular character actor for decades with movie and TV audiences as well as directors and fellow actors, has died. He was 75.

Rihanna Cancels Comeback Concert

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Don't call it a comeback…'cause it isn't one just yet.
Just a month after Rihanna was booked for her first public performance since her alleged assault by Chris Brown, the show has been abruptly scrapped.
The 21-year-old R&B star had been scheduled to perform later this month in the United Arab Emirates. But Yassin Matbouly, of would-have-been concert organizer Vibe Entertainment Management Agency, said in a statement that she's not yet ready to return to the stage.
"We want to share with you that Rihanna and her management will not be accepting to hold a public concert at this time as it is not appropriate timing for her," he said.
There was no immediate comment from Rihanna, who is expected to be among the glitterati in attendance at tonight's Costume Institue Gala in New York.
Coincidentally, the next court hearing for Brown's double felony case is May 28, the same day the concert was scheduled to take place.
Matbouly, who said the concert would likely have taken place in Dubai or possibly Abu Dhabi, speculated that the scope of the concert may have been intimidating. Organizers were looking for a 25,000-seat venue and, he said, the media attention would have been massive (though it likely will be whenever and wherever she does stage her return).
"Rihanna's management contacted us on Saturday and explained she was unable to come to the UAE in May, but said she is keen to still perform in the region.
"Vibe has been ready and was looking forward to putting this concert together for the crowd of the Middle East…This is very sad for us at this time knowing the concert will not happen, but we will not give up and we will continue to put our offer to Rihanna's management for a future date."
The concert producers are now eyeing dates for sometime this fall.

top 9 best american idol finalist (who didnt win)

Los Angeles (E! Online) – You guys! There's only three weeks left till the American Idol finale! Which means there's only three more weeks until Adam Lambert is our country's first, um, truly fabulous Idol! (Right? Right!)
After seven seasons, we all know that it doesn't really matter who wins—just as long as they make it to the finals. Past finalists have won Oscars, conquered song charts, and stormed Broadway, while winners like Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks are belting power ballads at county fairs.
So with universe's cruel indifference in mind, let's celebrate our Top 9 favorite Idol finalists (but not winners), with No. 10 left open for you to decide:
1. Sanjaya Malakar (season six): What if a unicorn could gallop into the Idoldome, stand upright, highlight his bangs, and hold a microphone? Would he be as jaw-droppingly amazing as Sanjaya? Unlikely.
2. Bo Bice (season four): Like bathtub hooch, some contestants get better with age. Bice the Elder (a descript 29 years old) rode the lightning all the way to second place. And some say that with the declaration of Bo Bice Day in Alabama (May 24, y'all!) all the old wounds of the Old South were healed.
3. Melinda Dolittle (season six): If grown-ups could text as fast as tweens, Melinda could have taken top prize over Jordin Sparks. Sadly, her brassy vocals and unshakable sweetness were no match for the lust of the ruthless training-bra voting block.
4. David Archuleta (season seven): You could wear a purity ring on each finger, but you'd still never come near the soft-spoken innocence and eerie fragility of this little man-angel. Watching him sing was so pure and beautiful it was like a butterfly landing on a baby's face.
5. Jennifer Hudson (season three): Hudson proves our E! Theory of Idol Finalists, that contests are better off lost. Since her sixth-round elimination, Hudson, an undeniable talent, has racked up more praise and awards than any B-list celebrity judge could ever dream of.
6. Jason Castro (season seven): When Hippie McDreadlocks botched some Dylan lyrics, we knew it was time for him to go. It was painful to hear Simon hiss that Castro's final performance was "a massacre," but take heart, Castro. In the words of Dylan: "Everybody must get stoned."
7. Nikki McKibbin (season one): Nikki took a page from the Courtney Love playbook of fame: This pixie did a little too much dust and landed herself in Celebrity Rehab and Sober House. But she'll always be the punky upstart that gave the toothless talents of Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson a run for their money.
8. Clay Aiken (season two): Who knew he'd be the best thing to happen to comedians since cocaine?
9 Tamyra Gray (season one): Tamyra had one of the most scandalous, premature exits in Idol history. Questions still remain about shadowy cell phone conspiracies and tweens' unquenchable thirst for diva tears.
10. You tell us! The E! Online offices have split into hostile camps with hourly knife fights because of this list. Time for you to weigh in: Who did we miss? Daughtry? Blake Lewis? Nadia Turner? Tell us!

Colour Men Perfect

BY OYINDAMOLA LAWAL
EVERY man deserves to look his best; and like the women, men are becoming stylish and fashion conscious. This season, their outfits are making bold statements with colours.
At the Kowry Kreations Media Fashion Show held on April 25, at Club O2, Sanusi Fafunwa, Victoria Island, men’s fashion sneaked in discerning colours.
Tagged Fashion Revolution Reloaded 2, the show featured creative and breathtaking men’s wears designed by Herbay Stitches and Buga Fash.
These two designers played with fabrics such as ankara, woodin, lace, denim, linen, mercury, plaid, shirt and trouser material, among others, which was enhanced with precious stones, studs, sequence and trimmings.
Men’s fashion is having a pink moment this season, and the lady’s fair colour for love seems to be redefining masculinity.
This not-so-typical colour sorts the men from the boys, as it takes guts and skill to wear; requiring men to make a modern colour statement while still maintaining a masculine edge.
This can be done by keeping cuts and fabrics very traditional and teaming it with neutral shades, such as white, beige, gray or black.
From Herbay Stitches and Buga Fash Collections displayed on the runway, models like Denrenle Edun and others stepped out in pink, cream, purple, white, blue, black, green, beige and navy blue colour.
However, these colours will benefit any gentleman concerned with style as they are making surprise comeback and show no signs of stopping in the near future.

I can borrow to buy classy cars- Otu

President of Association of Motorist Club of Nigeria and top model, Otu Ukpana has over the years made a mark for himself. The Akwa-Ibom born dude has modeled for multinational companies in Nigeria including Glo, MTN and Coca Cola among others. He spoke to DAMILOLA ADEKOYA, on his love for cars, modeling and fashion
Definition of fashion
It’s something within. Fashion is something that tell whom you are.
Style of Fashion
I’m a casual person. I love wearing jeans
Favourite piece of clothing
Body fitted tops. I love to flaunt what I have.
Most expensive item
It depends on what you define as expensive because I’m the president of Association of Motorist Club of Nigeria. I’m a collector and I have range of classy cars, which I could describe as priceless though they may mean nothing to you. For instance, I have a 1970 Rover (2002); in the whole world only 31 pieces of it were ever produced. So, it’s extremely rare, for me; it’s priceless to me, but for you, it could be a piece of junk.
Growing up
It was fun and challenging. I came from a family of seven children among whom is my twin brother who is a Catholic priest while I’m a model, but that doesn’t make me a devil.
Memorable moment
It was when my twin brother was ordained a priest in Rome.
Most embarrassing moment
I can’t really think of any because I watch what I do.
Turn on
Cars. I love cars; I can borrow money to get a car. I have five cars and I still want more
Turn off
Playing smart on me.
If you are given a chance to change something in Nigeria, what would it be?
Nigeria is a big country with so many things to change. I will begin from the leadership down to other areas. However, its not a thing that can be done over night by one person.
Favourite designer
It’s Alvins, His designs are a bit crazy and I love them.
Favourite signature
Manny gold
Most cherish possession
My cars
Journey into modeling
I will be 11 years in full time modeling by August 15. I was discovered by modela in 1998, for I never in my widest dream thought of becoming a model. I’m a seaman by profession; I finished from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria and worked in board ship for two years, but because of the nature of the job and Nigeria not having enough ships, l left for modeling. Two days after I joined modeling, I was short listed to shoot a job for Guiness, so, Guiness was my very first job and since then it’s been fine.
Inspiration
Apart from the glamour, I have a good body that can attract people. B But basically, the glamour inspires me a lot.

Most paid job
I can’t really think of any, but I have done several modeling jobs. I have gone into endorsement, which ran for a period of time and I was paid some good money. But I have modeled for Glo, MTN, and Coca Cola billboards among others. I’m also a photographer and at the same time I do voice over. So, I have been involved in the three major part of modeling.
Role models
I don’t really have anybody that I look up to, but my greatest challenge right now is to replace Tyson Beckford and I believe in getting there because there is an agency in the UK that is really interested in me.
Projection into the future
In the next five years, I want to have a family of my own and in the next ten years, I want to bring formula one racing to Nigeria. I want to set up a track in Nigeria and that is my dream.
