‘No colour riot for me’

POPULARLY known as Tintin the Koolness, Augustine Imevbore, the programmes director of Classic FM 97.3, is a on air personality. He had his early education in Rome, before he left for the UK, where he bagged a degree in Politics and Sociology at the University of Warwick. In 1991, he returned to Italy and worked for Radio Centro Suono, a leading soul/R&B station. Having made a mark as DJ ambassador to hip-hop and R&B music around Europe, he returned home in November 2005, and in August 2006, he anchored the Gulder Ultimate Search III. He tells OYINDAMOLA LAWAL what fashion is to him.

What is fashion to you?
It is a personal thing; I don’t think there is any particular way to it. Everybody does his or her own thing, as long as it looks good on the person. I love fashion and I love to look at beautiful things.

Style of dressing
I love jeans and I wear it almost everyday. I also love T-shirts, especially, the short-sleeved ones. I’m very sporty in my dressings and Jean makes me comfortable with the kind of job I do.

Favourite piece of clothing
I do not have any favourite piece of clothing; but rather I’m a freak for jeans and T-shirt.

Favourite designer(s)
I love Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Versace and some others unknown Japanese products. All my designers have lovely accessories. I also love Ermenigicdo, Zegna and Trussardi.

Favourite colours
I love earth colours such as chocolate and all shades of brown.

Most expensive item
It’s my Pahl Koya watch. It looks very casual, but very comfortable for me.

Signature scents
I have three different types, but I can remember only Tuscany leather by Tom Ford and Vetiver by Creed.

Role model
My dad. I always seek advice from him.

What won’t you be caught wearing?
It’s colour riot. I don’t do it; I always love to match my pair of shoes with my belt. Another thing you won’t find me wear, is sweater because Nigeria’s weather is hot.
