27FaB Launches Fabulousity

BY Oyindamola Lawal
27FaB is very excited to launch its mini debut collection, tagged ‘fabulousity’, a word trademarked by fashion/design mogul, Kimora Lee Simmons, meaning being the best at everything, looking fabulously sexy, having the best things and flaunting your fabulousness, which every piece of this collection depicts.
The collection emblazoned by the designer, Oyindamola Lawal is a blend of rich and sophisticated traditional clothing with clean and classic western cuts. The beautiful use of Nigerian heritage fabric with new aesthetic dimensions completed her array.
Her mini debut collection, which is inspired by fashion mogul, Kimora Lee Simmons and the amazing African lady silhouettes, is a perfect blend of simplicity and sophistication.
The label, which was created by Oyindamola ,a blogger and fashion/style writer has no boundaries when it comes to experimenting with different styles, designs, fabrics and colour. She tagged it ‘mini collection’ because it is a pinch of her main collection, which she intends to launch next year. However, to her, this was done to officially launch herself into the fashion scene and for the Christmas edition of Gem Woman magazine’s fashion page (SIMPLY CHIC) with the theme called BRIGHT LIGHTS.
According to her, “Fabulousity is perfectly suited to that modern girl of today who is independent, strong and yet graceful thus enhancing her innate elegance.  This collection accentuates the feminine contour, which displays glamorous dresses, skirts, blazers, shirts, tops and pants. The designs also come in brilliant embellishments.”
The vivacious collection, which comes with very well chosen colour palette of vibrant colours, kept in mind the need of today’s women who seek for comfort, elegance and are not afraid to express the inner beauty through fashion, most especially colour and styles.
The collection features different fabrics including Aso-oke, ankara, lace, sari fabric, chiffon and cotton to mention just a few. Transforming hand-woven Nigerian fabric, Aso oke, into a unique flexible, edgy yet classy and well embellished ensembles, contemporary, edgy silhouettes coupled with traditional techniques gives a classy and rich look to the collection. However, the prints and embellishments add drama and wow factor, helping to make the appeal broad and inclusive.
Oyindamola Lawal’s amazing career in fashion, love of design and unique appeal to African ladies has helped her to create the exciting collection. She has created a coordinated range of chic, modern, edgy, classy and stylish pieces, using timeless key pieces for inspiration.
The whole collection is edgy and futuristic with the geometrical patterns, detailed embellishments, lace, flowers, sheer shirts, cocktail dresses, one-shoulder puff evening dress, fringe skirts, embellished high waist skirts, separated pleat-detailed slit, multi-coloured Ankara blazers, rose-pattern detailed aso-oke skirt and corset, long front-zipper skirts, lace tops and white palazzo pant. Sophistication, detail and precision were the highlighting elements of this collection.
However, the designer has also designed for few celebrities including, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Uche Jombo, Emem Isong and ‘Finding Goodluck’ star Florence Johnson to mention just a few.
