IT was an eventful day, as those that matter in the society graced the Fela! Broadway Musical red carpet in style, spicing up the event in different Afrocentric, glamorous look that awaken cultural awareness.
The Broadway production, which had received numerous awards, aside from attracting high profile personalities such as Michelle Obama, the US First Lady, Kofi Annan, Spike Lee, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Denzel Washington, Beyoncé, Harry Belafonte and others in \ New York; was recently held at Eko Expo Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Sponsored by Sean ‘Jay Z’ Carter in partnership with Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, the event, which aimed to instill unity among Africans, was used to celebrate the Nigerian music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and, to serve as a catalyst for cultural revival in the country.
