THE maiden edition of Food and Lifestyle Festival was launched last week in Lagos.
   Tagged, Taste of Lagos, the launch, which held at Radiant Blu Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, attracted culture aficionados and stakeholders in the hospitality business. 
   The festival, which has taken place in over 30 cities across the globe, will hold in Lagos from December 15 to 18 at the Lagos Polo Club.
   The three-day feast will showcase 20 top restaurants in the city, Lagos traditional food show, fashion and luxury, 10 independent cultures and arts show, live music and other entertainment.
    The event with huge international following across the globe, willserve as a platform to sample different cuisines from top restaurants in Lagos, taste some local delicacies, fete with Michelin celebrity chefs, enjoy the best of wine and champagne, as well as experience world-class brands.

Adora launches lingerie

 FAMILY members, friends and clients gathered at Ikoyi, Lagos, to witness the launch of Dorothy George Ufot, fashion outfit — Adora’s lingerie.
   The launch featured different attires, which include handcrafted wears, lingerie, swimsuits; men’s and women’s wears such as boubou, sequin and evening dresses.
   Dorothy, who left her banking job in 1996 for the fashion industry, has made great success in the business, opening shops in Abuja and, later in her home state, Akwa–Ibom.
  Owing to popular demand, the Abuja-based stylish has decided to leave her footprint in the Lagos market.
   Though a label owner, Dorothy still does not consider herself a fashion designer, she just wants to be referred to as a fashion stylist.

From Broadway to runway

IT was an eventful day, as those that matter in the society graced the Fela! Broadway Musical red carpet in style, spicing up the event in different Afrocentric, glamorous look that awaken cultural awareness.
   The Broadway production, which had received numerous awards, aside from attracting high profile personalities such as Michelle Obama, the US First Lady, Kofi Annan, Spike Lee, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Denzel Washington, BeyoncĂ©, Harry Belafonte and others in \ New York; was recently held at Eko Expo Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
  Sponsored by Sean ‘Jay Z’ Carter in partnership with Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, the event, which aimed to instill unity among Africans, was used to celebrate the Nigerian music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and, to serve as a catalyst for cultural revival in the country.

Pecha kucha presentations for Japan

PECHA Kucha, a Japanese outfit, recently gathered professionals in architecture, graphic design, brand, photography and art to Pecha Kucha Vol 3 to raise funds for the victims of Japanese tsunami and earthquake.
   Tagged, Inspire Japan, the event, which held at Terra Kulture, Lagos, was replicated in 394 cities across the globe.
   According to Japan-based Nigerian designer, Gozi Ochonogor, who introduced Pecha Kucha to the country, the event aims to serve as a platform for professionals in different fields involved in design, including fashion to mingle and exchange ideas.
   She said: “Japan has inspired the creative world for many generations; it’s now time for the world to inspire Japan to rebuild its country from the ruins of the devastation. We want everyone to know that the world is with them in their troubles.”
    Co-sponsored by Martini drinks, the event showcased the works of 10 designers that ranged from architecture, graphics, illustrations, product design, photography and art.
    Initiated by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham in Tokyo, in 2003, Pecha Kucha has served as a platform for designers to meet, network, and showcase their works to the public across the globe
