City People set to Host Ankara Fashion Show 2010

 City People Media Group will be hosting the 4th edition of the Ankara Fashion Show, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday July 4, 2010 at the Balmoral Hall, Oregun, Lagos.  The events, which aimed at a platform for Nigerian designers, giving them the opportunity to display their creativity will feature designers like Bosun Kola-Adewale (Dazzle Pulse), Lara Sobowale (Lardiva Clothings), Ngozi Ukeredo, Irene Dumuje (DMJ), Ifeyinwa Shekinah Odo (Misiano) and Princess Aisha N-Hiris (Eternally Zoe).
   These designers will be showcasing their newest collections, artistic expression using Ankara fabrics. However apart from these up coming designers, artistic designers that have been able to carve a niche for themselves with their various and unique designs, Amede Nzeribe of Amede and Ayotomi Rotimi of Xclamations will be displaying their breath-taking designs on the runway.
AMEDE NZERIBE
  Over the years, the trained lawyer turned designer, with her designs have caught the fashion fancy of celebrities like Joke Silva, the popular actress and Mo Abudu, the Moments With Mo hostess on local and cable television channels.
 Her unique ability to weave together stunning combinations of colours and fabrics is perhaps    inherited    from her late mother, the   legendary Flora Nwapa, Africa’s first female novelist, whose writing weaved   together poignant   themes and authentically Nigerian characters.
  Amede’s clothes command attention because they seem to achieve the impossible – beautifully   constructed clothing in comfortable fabrics and styles. Her clothes are unmistakably African, with   flowing shapes and rich colours, but they are coupled with a modern twist. She adds frills, unusual   buttons, beads and sequins, funky high-cut collars, a variety of sleeves and other surprising touches.  The end result is a rare combination of timeless and edgy.
AYOTOMI ROTIMI OF XCLAMATIONS
  After working in the banking sector for three years, Ayotomi Rotimi dumped her job and applied for a fashion school in England where she did a course in Fashion Technology. However, this pretty damsel has towed a path of success in the fashion industry with her distinctive linen designs.

MAKE-UP
  Sleek make-up would be the make-up of the day. The brand will be beautifying the 30 models strutting the runway in the designers’ collections.
